My Year of Meats

I enjoyed reading My Year of Meats. I found it very hard to put the book down. In my opinion, it was a lot better than Happiness. The two books however, are completely opposite. My favorite characters in My Year of Meats are Oh and Suzuki. They added a nice comical aspect to the book, but then became very reliable friends to Jane. They stood by Jane no matter what, even when they knew they could get fired for doing some of the stuff they did. Overall, it was a very good book.

Happiness-alt ending

As an alternate ending for Will Ferguson's novel "Happiness" I would have May continue to work at Panderic. Edwin and May would have the same relationship they had before they slept together, but eventually May would grow tired of Edwin's lackluster attitude and eventually move on. May starts to date a mystery man, and although Edwin is heartbroken, he is happy for May. One morning Edwin arrives early to work. As he is on his way to give May her daily cup of coffee he sees an unspeakable sight. It's May and Mr. Mead making out in the staff room! Edwin walks out of Panderic and goes home to pack up what little things he has left in his apartment and catches the first flight to Paradise Flats and never looks back.
